I am not a fan of baba ganoush. When the server presented us with lovely, crusty, whole grain bread and a little dish of eggplant spread I thought "meh". I'd rather have some luscious, creamy butter to slather! I was so very, very wrong. This spread was positively unctuous (great word, no?)! It was savory, garlicky, and rich. And now I have a recipe!
